If you prefer a theme to resolutions, then some of you may have even already chosen “focus” as your theme for 2022!

But focus is most definitely emerging as an early global theme for 2022.

When most people talk about the word focus they tend to think of it as a way of improving productivity or getting something done or not being distracted from whatever they’re working on.

While focusing our attention is a great way of improving productivity and “getting things done”, we live in an era of distraction: there’s so much content available 24/7 and everyone is using master manipulation to get you to focus on what they’re offering (selling) so we rarely manage to focus on what’s important to us and ignore what’s superficially vying for our attention.

We are told we’re addicted to our phone screens, social media, TV, the News etc and we don’t really need to be told, we can see it everywhere and even in our own behaviour!

But it’s not a focus of the mind which is the emerging theme for 2022, it’s the focus of the/on the heart.

Creating a Heart-focused state of Being and Life.

Traditionally, when we talk about focus we are talking about focusing the mind, but with heart-focus we’re talking about focusing our heart and defocusing whatever is on our mind.

You will be familiar with the phrase,

“Where thought goes, energy flows”
But more specifically where you put your attention – energy flows.

So what you focus on, energy flows to that – which is I am always talking about focusing on love, peace and joy: focusing on the positive because what you focus on expands.

The heart focused theme is about allowing the power of our hearts to determine our focus and not allow others’ mind-focused agendas to pull us away from what is important to us.

You get to decide:

* What’s important to you?
* What is deserving of your focus?
* What does your heart want to create?
* What will you focus on to create more love, peace, joy, health and abundance into your life?

Our minds are easily distracted by other’s minds, so we need to take our attention away from our constantly distracted minds and instead focus on our heart.

Allow your heart to choose your focus and then like a puppy dog allow your mind to follow where your heart leads.

By consciously choosing your heart-focus you can improve your experience of life.

So, in a month dedicated to Love, why not change focus from mind to heart, from doing to being, from others agendas to our own, from others’ values to our own? From getting to giving? Or if you’re really ready for the new era – from i to we? Explore what a change of focus to your heart might offer?
