Life Purpose Vs Career
Because I frame my work as helping people to get clear on life purpose (and soul purpose for those who would like to understand both), people often ask me what the difference is.
I think this beautiful young woman is a good example:
Career is about what you can get from your work.
Life purpose (LP)/ Soul Purpose is about what you can give from your work.
LP is greater than money (although there is no reason why it can’t create vast sums of it) and it’s greater than trying to achieve status.
LP is the expression of the unique configuration of gifts you were given in order to contribute to this world in a positive way.
And I love that Ellie Goldstein is forging the way ahead for inclusivity in the modelling world.
I don’t know about you but I’m sick of seeing starved-into-anorexia, pasty skinned, depressed-faced models being held up as the epitome of female beauty. I would rather see real beauty like Ellie any day of the week.
So for most models their work is a career, but for those normally excluded from the status quo model of beauty- it’s more than a career, it’s a life purpose (whether they acknowledge it or not) to educate and expand our societal incorrect limited definitions of beauty. And for that we should be grateful.
You don’t have to crusade. You don’t have to think, “I’m changing the face of ___ ____”
But what purpose gives us is a persistence.
The refusal to do anything else but the thing we were put on this Earth to do, because anything else is not our purpose and we won’t accept anything less than that, regardless of the adversity.
That’s why I give Life Purpose and Soul Purpose Readings because anyone can have your career but ONLY YOU can fulfil your life purpose.
